Broccoli and pumpkin flat cakes with shrimp powder

This pumpkin cakes meal is an excellent option to give your family, in a tasty way, all the nutrients they need to be in good health.

Broccoli and pumpkin flat cakes with shrimp powder




  • 500 grams of yellow pumpkins

  • 400 Grams of Broccoli

  • 2 eggs

  • 100 grams of dried shrimp powder

  • 1 cup coconut oil

  • 1 Tablespoon sea salt

  • 1/2 Tablespoon pepper




The pumpkin shell is removed and cut it into large pieces that are passed through a grater in order to obtain tiny cuts like julienne.

Only the Broccoli flower is cut; the stem is reserved to prepare other healthy foods.

In a bowl mix the pumpkin pieces, chopped broccoli, two eggs, salt, and pepper, then add ground shrimp or if you prefer you can substitute the shrimp for bread crumbs.

These are the main ingredients that result in a delicious broccoli and pumpkin flat cakes with shrimp powder or with bread crumbs as mentioned.

In my family there are people which don’t like the taste of shrimp powder so when I prepare these broccoli and pumpkin flat cakes with shrimp powder, I make half with the shrimp powder and the other half with bread crumbs.

My children really like the taste of these cakes.

In a frying pan heat the coconut oil or the oil of your choice, over medium heat.

With a spoon a we take a small quantity of the mixture and it is put to fry in the oil, the pumpkin cakes are formed alone in the frying pan, it is not necessary to do it with the hand like when the meatballs are made.

When the flat pies are fried in their lower part, we turn them to give them their complete cooking.

These cakes are almost ready.

Remove from the oil by placing them in a dish on absorbent paper to remove oil excess,

Finally serve with the sauce of your choice.
