Exquisite Tuna Tamarind 


This is an exquisite tuna tamarind, believe me it’s a sensational bittersweet food that satisfies the most demanding tastes of people who love meals combined with sweet and salty flavors.

Recipe for 2 people:


1/2 Kg of tuna fillets

200 grams of tamarind or half cup of tamarind pulp

1 onion

1 Pasilla Chili

1 Sprig of fresh rosemary

1/2 bar of butter

3 garlic cloves

1 tablespoon of salt

1/2 tablespoon of pepper



Remove the seeds and veins of Pasilla chili, it is not spicy. It is cooked in water along with the tamarinds. Tamarind pieces can be substituted by half cup of tamarind pulp. You can find it in any supermarket.

The onion is cut into slices, like half-moons. Let’s continue to prepare this exquisite tuna with tamarind sauce which when it will be served you will be surprised about your cooked results.

Fresh rosemary is finely chopped.

When the tamarinds and chili are cooked they are removed from the water, and we reserve it. Remove the husk and veins of tamarind, also remove the seeds, it is easy to squeeze them with a fork.

Put in the blender the Pasilla chili, tamarind pulp, garlic cloves, salt and a little of the water where the tamarinds and the chili were cooked. Blend those until a sauce is obtained without lumps.

With this sauce the tuna fillets are marinated and leave it to stand in the refrigerator for a few minutes, while the other ingredients are prepared. This exquisite tuna with tamarind sauce recipe is almost done.

In a frying pan over high heat melt the butter and add the chopped onion, and when these became light golden color, we add the rosemary and the tuna steaks, we add the pepper and we  left it to be fried for five minutes, after that we turn it carefully and we left to fry another five minutes to finish the cooking of this exquisite tuna with tamarind sauce.

Finally we serve the exquisite tuna with tamarind sauce, it can be alone or accompanied with white rice.
